Bees Buzz is owned and run by Stuart Hillis, a qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
For a few years, Stuart headed up PR at one of Europe's largest AV distributors, Midwich, before going on to be a former director at a London PR agency specialising in broadcast and media technology.
A creative thinker and respected writer, Stuart has over 20 years’ experience in journalism prior to ‘converting’ to PR, in a career that has ranged from working with young offenders to dining with European ministers – along with being shot at in the Middle East!
An avid fan of quality sound and vision since the 70s, he now thankfully avoids the fashion of the era, but retains that passion and interest in all things technology, with the experience of over 25 years in media and communications.
Margot is the former content director for AV Technology Magazine in the United States, having also hosted and launched the live event series of AV/IT Leadership Summits in New York, Denver, San Diego, and Washington D.C.
With more than 17 years experience editing one of America’s top AV industry titles, she brings an enormous wealth of knowledge and experience of the US marketplace. Her magazine is a winner of Best Media Brand in the 2018 Jessie Neal Awards, and she was recently awarded the 2018 Marianne Dekker Mattera Mentor Award for outstanding stewardship in publishing. Margot has keynoted and moderated industry events and has become a thought leader in AV over IP best practices and UX. Additionally, she has served as a judge for the Excellence in Technology Journalism Awards and she was named in Collaborate’s 2014 list of 40 Under 40: Young Innovators in Collaboration Intelligence and Technology.
Emma Hillis has several years of administration experience ranging from Dental nurse to Legal secretary. Taking a leap of faith after being a stay at home mum, Emma embarked on her PR career with Bees Buzz two years ago as admin support for Stuart.
Since then, Emma has formed an ever-expanding knowledge of the channel, markets and technology within the AV sector and has moved from Account Administrator to Account Executive. With her bright and bubbly personality, Emma is a great people person and will always do her best to get your job done.
Emma has a love of learning and is frequently taking a variety of courses to gain new skills and information, allowing her to grow and develop in this ever-changing environment that is AV.
Colin began his career just prior to the birth of desktop publishing, when Graphic Designers still relied on Magic Markers and drawing boards. This period was spent at several London based Advertising & Marketing agencies working on a wide range of accounts for international brands.
Most of the nineties & noughties were spent as Art Studio Manager and subsequently regional head of Creative Services for a multinational media company. Then at the turn of this decade Colin took the opportunity to form his own design consultancy.
Initially trained as a print designer, Colin has been designing for the internet since its inception designing content and animated campaigns using Flash and subsequently HTML5.
His spare time is spent playing guitar in a function band and going to watch other bands. He also has a keen interest in film, tech & general gadgetry.
